Two Year Olds

Big things happen once your child turns two! Not only will they start talking, they start thinking in new ways, learning new skills, finding new techniques to solve problems, and showing their independence. Our teachers introduce more socially interactive activities throughout the day.

We continue our theme-based curriculum and social skill development in this classroom. Daily activities include group circle time, center-based learning, songs and fingerplays, art & social experiences, gross and fine motor skill development and verbal communication. Physical play is also important, and we provide scheduled outdoor and indoor physical activities throughout the day. Play is learning!

Potty training takes place in this classroom once a child reaches certain milestones of readiness. Potty training is done in a relaxed environment. We find most children are fully potty trained by their third birthday when parents and teachers maintain effective communication and teamwork.

Staff are properly trained in toddler appropriate practices. They are also CPR/First Aid Certified. Continuing education takes place in regular intervals throughout the year. We maintain a maximum ratio of eleven 2-year-olds to one staff with an assistant as needed.
